How are we?
People fight addiction in so many different ways.
Every steps made count and worthy.
There is no right or wrong ways just like our journey in life.
Even the wrong way we thought taken is in fact the alignment leading us closer to the destination.
For me obviously the first and foremost is god and spirituality as the way out.
Apart from spirituality let me share little things which I found very helpful in my battle against addiction.
Nourish the body
Fruits- Any of them but am mango and watermelon man. Medjools dates are also lovely. No human fruits for now as am embracing solitude and taking break from NSA.
Dark chocolates - Was milk chocolates lover all along but loving the dark one
too lately.
Tea- Lyons original blend would do. No milk or sugar, just plain tea. Milo and the malty creamy Horlicks for something sweeter.
Oats milk Cappuccino and ice latte ( Coffeebox and Panem are my go to)
Honey- Love me some Acacia honey, light clear in colour and delish.
Desserts and pastries- I will eat all of them.

Scented candles and incenses
Dunnes' mango candles( only 4 euro each) and Benjamin Max' lemongrass. Nag Champa' sandalwood and palo santo incenses are magic. Light the candle or incense and play some gentle music in dimly lit room to create the perfect vibe for healing.
Indoor plants
Indoor plants are great but for less the hassles than having children.
Our family is getting bigger now, all started with the little orchid I bought from Fresh and we bonded ever since. Over time, I got her some company , a deliciosa, cacti, fern plant and the latest addition pink fig.
They all in good care but at my lowest point, even the zero maintenance cactus almost didn’t make it.
I loved the little trips to plant shops, Dunnes and Ikea have pretty amazing plants section in their stores.

Self care
Look good feel good and be your biggest fan. I don't have mini Sephora at home and my skincare routine is fairly basic. In term of beauty products I love Kiehl's stuff for face wash, mask ,eye cream, and moisturiser. Cheap Vit C mask from Boots. Niacinamide from the Ordinary, SPF50 by Korean beauty of Joseon.
For hair- Champo' leave in perfecting cream. Ketoconazole shampoo and topical minoxidil.
Perfumes- Armani' Gio for that fresh clean smell and some TF's and Paco Roban is good too. Good smell set up positive tone for the day.
Ice cubes to keep the face looking fresh especially when I hardly sleep.
Cold shower- Amazing! A fun morning routine.
Gym
Hit the gym and not people, pick the one close to your place as you more likely to go. The gym keep us busy and boost all the good neurotransmitters and keep the cortisol low. Great for the eyes too!
Wear nice clean clothes
Know your body , your style and what look good on you, put some colours on , don't have to be expensive but clean fresh clothes will help. No crinkly shirts or T shirts, press or steam them, be presentable and be very proud of you when you look at that mirror.
Music
There is so much power to music.Remember those healing frequencies I shared before? They are fun to listen to. Now am more into medieval, duduk music and soundtrack music( Idea 22, Interstellar, Inception, Gladiator) all available on Youtube.
In summary, the essence are spirituality, self care , self respect and self improvement.
