I spent some quality time at Phoenix Park this afternoon.
I been here millions of times since the covid pandemic but this one is very special.
i got some mixed nuts and raisins from Lidl for the hungry birds.
This stunning city oasis , measuring about 707 hectares was established in 1662 by Duke Ormond.
The park wasn't busy but you can see homo sapiens here and there, just nice.
Thank god there was no homo sexual doing their fun ritual.
It is one of the biggest enclosed park in Europe and i think now is probably the best time to visit with the flowers are in full bloom , the big towering happy trees are in vibrant green and purple, and the expanses of maturing yellow brownish grass covering the open fields , thick and lush.
The weather was very pleasant not scorching hot like yesterday but more on the nicely warm breezy side.
Just perfect.
It took sometime before the birds come to me, initially just 2 baby crows then moment later we had big afternoon party.
Despite their gangsta vibes, those seagulls love being fed just as much as the pigeons.
After that, i got lucky as 3 beautiful friendly Fallow deers were grazing near the obelisk.
They were camera ready too, amazing trio. It is estimated about 600 of them around and most are descendants from the original Fallow deers introduced way back from England.
From the obelisk, then i went for my usual long left side , walking into the meadows the woods then towards the giant Cross and then back to the main road.
This time i walked all the way only with my socks, at times accidentally i stepped on thorny plants and pieces of woods but that didnt bother me because walking barefoot or almost barefoot is more eu de naturale.
The idea was to reconnect with mother earth, Gaia, to feel the ground the grass.
It been a while since i last walked barefoot.
Last time it was slightly sore.
I said my gratitude to the earth, the trees, the grass , the animals because they helped me so much through my journey.
i came here many times with negative feelings, broken heart, despairs but now am healed am all positive and in a much better place physically and mentally.
I owed this place so much.
Am sure many would agree too.
To Phoenix Park and the many hard working people behind this gem, thank you so very much.
