Sleep is very important and if you aren't sleeping well then address that right away.
The duration of night sleep we require varies based on age and the individual needs.
In general we sleep less as we get older.
Adults aged 18-64 ideally sleep 7-9 hours /night while a baby can sleep easily more than 11 hours.
For chronic meth users sleep is big problem where one might not sleep for days.
It's not that they don't want to sleep and rest but simply they cannot stop smoking ,causing the mind on continuous alert mode pretty much all the time due to the stimulant nature of meth.
Remember my previous entry on sleep where i experienced " presence" at my place because i neglected sleep.
Basically, the message was i needed to sleep.
Since then, since i slept properly every night ,i never had the "presence "in my place anymore but interestingly i discovered something new,
I have been sleeping well but the pattern changed.
Like the majority we usually have consolidated sleep, meaning we sleep in a block of let say 7 hours straight.
As am not working , I no longer chasing time ,
It feels time has slowed down on me or my time perception has changed or both.
i dont really check time as much as i used to and more in the moment to whatever am doing.
Am no longer rushing or being rushed.
When we stop chasing time it feels as if the time stop zipping away from us but instead it sort of wait for us to experience and enjoy the presence moment.
Time is illusion anyway.

My body seems adjusted to this ancestral sleeping pattern which i never knew exist .
AI told me its called segmented pattern, which was also the same way most people sleep pre industrialised Europe and America.
I will go to bed early around 2030 to 2200.
I will wake up maybe around 2330-0030, feeling fully rested as if i slept the whole night.
I will then make use of the time to reflect, listening to music, blogging or snacking if am hungry.
It is also great time for creativity.
Back then people use that period to explore creativity, chat, have fun and even visit their closed family.
Am very intrigued if they remained closed lol.
After 1-2 hours , i will continue with my 2nd half of the sleep and wake up around 0530 which is my natural body clock.
I never knew that segmented sleep exist and the fact that my own body adjusting to its natural rhythm is very interesting.
AI mentioned it is possible to be feel refreshed after 2-3 hours of sleep.
Each sleep cycle last about 90 minutes which include light, deep and REM cycle.
If one can achieve restorative sleep, the deeper sleep then they will feel refreshed.
To me it means this sleep is superior than the usual consolidated sleep.
In the literatures, segmented sleep helps regulate emotion and reduce stress .
It is resurgance as people exploring alternative to regular consolidated sleep.

There are so many hindrance to good sleep.
Imagine if our approach to sleep been wrong from the beginning, consolidated sleep instead of the natural segmented sleep.
Then throw in the shift work, the drugs, the party, clubbing , caffeine am not sure how one can achieve good consolidated sleep.
I suppose its highlight our interactions with time and sleep.
Try and compare both ways of sleeping and pick one that works for you best.
